The Zen of Fulbright
The Unofficial Guide to Making the Most
of Your U.S. Fulbright Scholarship
The Zen of Fulbright
We wrote The Zen of Fulbright to help American applicants and grantees of the Fulbright U.S. Student Program make the most of the incredible opportunities a Fulbright Scholarship can offer! Compiled from dozens of interviews with former Fulbrighters, campus Fulbright advisors, and study abroad specialists, this guide is an unofficial handbook on what the Fulbright experience is like on the ground.

In its pages Fulbrighters and Fulbright advisers share practical advice on everything from how to write strong application essays and approach host organizations for support, to the art of living overseas and how to pay forward your Fulbright experience after you've returned home. Through hundreds of stories and quotes from recent Fulbrighters, readers can hear past grantees speak candidly about what worked, what they would have done differently, and how you can learn from their experiences.

Who is this guide for?
This guide focuses on two specific Fulbright grants for young American citizens: the traditional study/research grant, and the English Teaching Assistant grant. Both of these fellowships are part of the Fulbright U.S. Student Program.
